Wedding photography group and fun formal portraits~

After the ceremony ends its time to take the formal portraits. I always try to get the traditional style photos first ( the ones that make the paper ) but immediately afterwards I always encourage my clients to leave a little bit of extra time to get some FUN wedding party group photos. These are the photos that most of my clients end up appreciating the most as its a chance to capture their friends hamming it up and having a good time after the respectful solemnness of the ceremony has passed. 

When time allows I often try and capture a few individual portraits of each bridesmaid and groomsman with the happy couple because I think that everyone should have that fun photo of themselves and their friends rocking those dresses and tuxes together.

This part of the wedding day is fun for me because I enjoy the challenge of trying to capture special requested images as suggested by my clients. Lots of folks love those wedding party jump-shots and you'd be surprised how often we actually stop traffic for wedding party photos downtown Raleigh. There is nothing like being able to fulfill my clients expectations and seeing their reactions ( along with the wedding party) to seeing the group photos right after I've captured them. It's a joy to be able to share what I see through my lens with my clients and their friends.... In short its incredible thing to earn living making people smile.
