Wedding photography at the DoubleTree by Hilton Suites Durham

If your searching for a lovely place to get married that combines the charm of an outdoor wedding with the comfort of a climate controlled indoor event in central NC, then you ought to check out the Double Tree by Hilton Suites in Durham NC. With its shimmering lake and pretty stone patio laid out next to the shore, the hotels property offers a fantastic backdrop for outdoor wedding photos. If the weather does not co operate then there is a huge white event tent adjacent to the lake that serves as a great spot for a sizable wedding reception or as a shelter from the random thunderstorms that seem to pop up just about any time of year.

This a view from the last wedding that I covered at the Doubletree Hilton a few weeks ago for my clients F & L. This was a 3 hour shoot, though brief it was really sweet to be the one to photograph part of this small wedding shared between family and the closest of friends having fun. F & L exchanged their vows on the back patio next to the lake. Once their formal portraits were captured they participated in a cocktail hour and then held their wedding reception inside the tent. 

The best part of this evening was when the sun set it casted sparkling beams of light that would reflect onto the water in the pond behind their ceremony spot. We managed to steal away from the reception for a few moments to capture some romantic photos of the two of them during this golden hour before the sun disappeared below the horizon. Truly a fitting end to a beautiful day!
