Dewberry Farm wedding photography in Kernersville NC

Every once in a while I have the opportunity to photograph a wedding at a truly special venue. A place that exemplifies the romance and charm of a southern wedding. Just such a location exists in Kernersville North Carolina ( just outside of Winston Salem) and it's name is Dewberry Farm Manor. http://www.dewberrymanor.com This venue is just perfect for an outdoor wedding rain or shine which was exactly the case for this wedding I photographed last weekend. With many options for a ceremony site ranging from a rustic barn, an outdoor covered porch or a lovely flower garden carpeted by lush green grass this venue has everything one could want in a ceremony spot no matter the weather.

My clients choice in utilizing the barn as a ceremony spot was perfect because the skies opened up on this hot July afternoon just after the wedding started. Outside the rain cascaded down in sheets while F & K spoke their vows but inside it was cool and dry with the nice breeze that flowed throughout the open doors. Because of the rain we chose to do the formal portraits inside the barn which turned out to work just fine because of the ample natural light filtering into the large open space of the barn's main floor.

After the portraits were taken we headed up to the farm house and on to the reception that was held on the covered patio. Lots of smiles were found and a great time was had by all despite the persistent rain that watered the numerous flowers lining the porch and the portico. Guests dined with butterflies and hummingbirds and then danced with joyful abandon sharing jokes, punchlines and smiles well into the evening. The kids even got to climb aboard a wagon being pulled by a tractor for a hayride around the expansive property. The music was loud and the party was swinging well into the evening. Truly a great time was had by all!
