Sorry for such a brief post today but I've got to head out for an evening engagement session in a few minutes. That being said I wanted to make sure that I shared this afternoon that I spent photographing a wedding day at the Oaks at Old Salem in Apex, North Carolina. This suburban event venue is an absolute treasure here in the Triangle since it's close to everything, yet still boasts a ton of contemporary country charm. The owner of this gorgeous house was a photographer herself so the walls are thoughtfully painted in a range nice neutral colors that reflect the light off of camera flashes nicely. This is a great thing if your planning on getting married here and especially so if you intend to have the "get- ready" portion of your day photographed.
Check out the slideshow below....
The bride and groom tied the knot under the boughs of a huge oak tree next to the shimmering pond in the backyard. Such a pretty spot to get married!
A bonus unexpected awesome element of this day was the fact that the Groom is a Fireman and his crew surprised him with a visit from his station's antique pump truck. We ended up capturing a hilarious group wedding party photo of everyone piled onto that truck together, haha love it!
After the couple's formal pictures were taken, we headed back up to the house for the reception which was held on the back patio under a huge white event tent. Although it was a very warm afternoon the couple and their guests had an excellent time together dancing and laughing well into the evening.
What a joy it was to be this couple's photographer, so much fun!
