Now that December has arrived I'm starting to book more and more engagement sessions for next spring. It always amazes me how quickly my available dates disappear earlier and earlier in the season with each passing year.  May through June tend to be the busiest weeks but it seems that mid March is slowly getting to be just as popular since the weather here in NC is just gorgeous during this time of year. The temps are usually in the 60s and that warm sun just glows off of all of the newly sprouting leaves.

My clients C & B wanted to keep their photos visually in time with the rustic theme of their upcoming wedding which was held later in October  (more on that later!) and thus decided to have the engagement photos taken in a colorful outdoor setting. The JC Ralston arboretum in Raleigh is just the spot if your looking for that sort of backdrop. With acres of paths that meander among trees from all over the world its hard to beat the arboretum when it comes to varied naturally beautiful backdrops. 

As luck would have it, my clients brought their puppy dog with them! I LOVE it when my clients bring their dogs!!! This particular pooch was VERY well behaved and even was calm enough to balance B's engagement ring on his nose. I have to say that I was a little concerned that the ring might disappear when the doggie swiped that huge pink tongue up and around his nose (ya, its the Gene Simmons of the dog world) but no worries because that dog was more interested in 'horking down all of the the treats that we fed him then eating a diamond.

Once again, another awesome afternoon of engagement photography was yielded due to friendly, furry & fun loving clients paired with my favorite springtime photoshoot locations.

* UPDATE I've received notification from the JC RAULSTON ARBORETUM stating that there are NO DOGS allowed on the property so these are the only pics that should be found of a dog at the gardens.
