There is nothing better than an early wintertime outdoor wedding in North Carolina.
Bryan and Emily’s wedding ceremony at the Tanger Family Bicentennial Garden in Greensboro was a sweet one indeed.

The late afternoon light was lovely, setting a romantic scene around the couple as they exchanged their vows in a warm glow.

As is the case with every outdoor wedding that I photograph, it was nice to have the freedom to move around the couple’s ceremony spot as needed to capture everything from multiple angles and distances.

It’s a lot of fun to catch those key moments all the while trying to keep an eye towards creativity and light management while the sun set lower on the horizon.

It’s definitely more challenging than shooting indoors but gosh, I don’t think I’d enjoy this as much if this was an easy job.

Truly, this was my kind of day!

Once Bryan and Emily’s family formal photos were completed, we took advantage of the waning light to capture a few portraits of just the two of them in the garden.

I think this is the perfect time to let my couples spend some time together after the whirlwind of the ceremony and family pics are done.

It’s important to me that couples are able to take a breath, and relax a bit with each other while experiencing the fist few moments of being married.

So, I try my best to let them just be themselves while taking mostly candid pics from a distance with my zoom lens.
Of course, I’ll grab a few posed photos during this time but for the most part, this is all about catching the love shared between husband and wife.

Once we finished up with Bryan and Emily’s portraits, we headed to Natty Greene’s Brewing Co. @nattygreenesbrewingco in downtown Greensboro N.C. to join up with their families for the reception.

It was a lot of fun for me to make my way around the room with my zoom lens on the lookout for sweet candid moments to photograph. I especially loved catching the couple while they were cutting it up on the dance floor.

With the lights down low, Natty Greene’s has a warm and inviting old school vibe which served as the perfect backdrop for Bryan and Emily’s intimate wedding reception.
The event hall had comfy couches and a nice view of the sparkling city lights right outside the large windows, it was almost like being in a familiar place with all the comforts of home plus an open bar lol!
