The simple fact is that technology is changing at an exponential rate. Photographers used to deliver their clients photos on DVDs. Think about it...are DVDs still a way that we consume media? What happens when our computers stop being built with disk drives en masse? Will your grandchildren own a computer that can load a DVD? As a wedding photographer who offers digital files, another common thing I worry about is if my clients actually print their digital images or are these moments are stored on their computers indefinitely. 🤔 It’s a fine temporary solution but let’s face it, computers can crash and files can be accidentally be erased! That’s why so it’s super important for me to encourage my couples to print their photographs that they’ve paid their hard earned money for so that they truly have something tangible long after their portraits were captured. I’ve got an album of my parents wedding photos. Those pics were captured in the late 70s and are absolutely one of my treasured family heirlooms. I can show them to my kids without trying to find an antiquated technology to view them. A printed image is a time machine that shares a glimpse of days long gone while retaining all of the emotional good feelz of the moment that photo was captured. That experience is a priceless gift that maybe passed from generation to generation.
