Judge me by what I love...

One of the things that I've struggled with over the years is how to best talk about who I am, and what I am all about online. Especially when it comes to writing  posts here on my own website (lol!) and on social media. Tbh, sometimes I just feel like an awkward mess whenever I try to pour out my feelings to you in an article. This is the reason why most of what I've written is delivered in a simple reportage form which documents the process of photographing a wedding in a straightforward way. Sure, this approach gets my portfolio seen & shared on a regular basis (yay!), but every time I hit the "publish" button, I worry about my grammar usage, the text formatting and whether or not I am boring my readers to pieces with written articles describing the latest photo shoots that I've been on, yada, yada,yada... I mean of course you know that I take pretty wedding photos but what does that fact really tell you about who I am as an individual? Do you care about the women behind the lens?

Assuming that you might be considering hiring me to spend all day with you while taking pictures of your once in a lifetime moments (sorry/not sorry for this use of a overly cliche term in the wedding industry, lol!) I know it's super important to you to find out everything you can about me. Do we have anything in common with one another? Can you trust me to care about the same things as you do?

Thinking about these things, I've wondered, is writing the best way for me to give you insight into the things that I value the most in life? What can I do to share my point of view with you so that you can get a more complete picture of who I am without you having to ferret through hundreds of cringy written personal blog posts that I've posted over the past decade?

Because I feel that pictures can say 1000 words with just one keystroke, I made this collage so that you can get a better sense of what motivates me to do what I do every day. These are the people that I love, the places I'd like to return to, the things I enjoy doing when I'm not working. My greatest loves in life- my sweet husband, our kiddo's, the people, places, experiences, foods, and things that stir my soul.
Simply put, these are the snapshots in time that give me all the happy feel'z whenever I see them.

Sharing a part of myself with you in this visual form feels so much more natural to me than writing another generic  "About Me" page on a webpage bio. From caves, bacon, horses, wooded trails, crabbing, beloved family members, gaming, traveling, pigeons, PUBG, Weezer and steaks, every photo has a story behind it which color's the portrait of who I am on the inside as well as how I spend my time in the outdoors.

I'd love to hear from you if any of these pictures speak to your values, your style/aesthetic or sense of fun and adventure!

:)
