More than hero moments, why a complete wedding photography portfolio is important

If there is one thing that I want you to know, it is this...Your wedding day is made up of so many things. Happy things. Tearful things. Surprise things. Emotional things. All of these are beautiful moments that are un-posed and unexpected.

Yet, the majority of wedding photographers show only the stereotypical posed "hero shots" of brides and grooms in their portfolio's. Airbrushed, polished , perfectly toned and curated for that marketing aesthetic featuring yet another gorgeous couple standing in an beautiful location. Very few are brave enough to admit to you that those "photoshop - perfect couples pictures" consist of like 1% of a total day of wedding photography.

So my question for you is this, don't you want to see more examples of work than what is on your wedding photographers highlight reel? After all your paying us to document your entire day, not just for the 45 minutes or so during your newlywed portrait time.

I am overjoyed to tell you that 99% of the wedding photographs that I capture and deliver are candid in nature. This means that I will take a ton of photos of your guests having fun during your reception and that you'll receive photographs taken with a focus on preserving a beautiful moment, in good light and (quite often!) otherwise. Yes, of course portfolio enhancing hero shots are beautiful, but they are but a small part of a much larger story. Yours!

I believe that it is very important for you to see my work it's entirety so here is what I think are important moments to capture and include in the delivery of my couple's wedding day stories. Check out the link below which contain galleries of real life wedding days in all kinds of places.
