The thing I love about engagement sessions is that it gives me a chance to get to know my couples before their wedding day.
Marissa and Bradley are exactly the type of people I enjoy being around. Smart, laid back and always ready to face life’s challenges with strategy mixed with a good sense of humor.

We shot their engagement session at the JC Raulston a couple of weeks ago. It was cloudy outside, but gosh that soft silver light was gorgeous!

As is my habit, I arrived at the Arboretum about 45 minutes early and took a walk around the garden to scout out different photo spots. Along the way, I grabbed a few pictures of a Mockingbird who was chilling in a tree.
Then I made my way up to the visitors center to wait for the couple to arrive.

After they met up with me in the courtyard, we strolled around the gardens for about an hour talking and taking pictures. They told me about how they met (online) and what they’ve got planned for their wedding day. (their wedding will be at the North Carolina Museum of Art in two weeks!)
It was really sweet to see how excited they were!!! Once I got home, I was so excited to check out all of the pics we had taken together. I knew that we’d captured something special when even the unedited files looked magical!
Since spending time with Marissa and Bradley, I’m super excited for their wedding day to arrive. I know that that it’s going to be gorgeous and a lot of fun to photograph :)
