With Love on wedding day from Falls Lake Park

The next series of photos are from my last wedding of 2018 captured at Falls Lake Park in Durham, NC. One of the best things about living here in the south is that although we experience all 4 seasons, December is actually a decent month to take pictures outside. On this day it was actually in the mid 60’s with a nice hazy sunset and little wind. That is a very good thing because, Terry and Regina wanted to have their couples portraits taken on the shores of Falls Lake on nearly New Year’s Eve! I was happy to oblige :) . . . #Durhamwedding #FallsLakePark #Durhamweddingphotographer #ncweddingphotography #FallsLakewedding #ncweddingphotographers #winterwedding #parkweddingphotography #Durham #outdoorwedding #winterweddingportraits #weddingphotographync #lakewedding #silvercordeventphotography

Winter light is so chill this time of year, nice & soft. The skies were slightly hazy with occasional breaks in the clouds which is when this shot of Terry and Regina was captured. It’s an interesting thing to constantly be on the lookout for optimal lighting, especially in an open space like this. I enjoy the challenge of figuring out the framing, the colors and the tech stuff all within a couple of seconds. . . . . #Durhamwedding #FallsLakePark #Durhamweddingphotographer #ncweddingphotography #FallsLakewedding #ncweddingphotographers #winterwedding #parkweddingphotography #Durham #outdoorwedding #winterweddingportraits #weddingphotographync #lakewedding #silvercordeventphotography

One of the things I set out to do last year was to find a way to work with more couples who were into spending time outdoors. I grew up in a busy suburb outside of Washington DC but spent most of my youth hiking and exploring the Blue Ridge mountains in western VA. Since then, I’ve moved farther and farther away from the city life (escape, lol!) and still enjoy time outside even more so today. That’s why I think it’s so cool to meet and work with like minded people like Terry and Regina who appreciate a hidden wooded path or a mellow lakeside sunset. It has been such a joy to have the opportunity to capture both their engagement and wedding portraits :) . . . . #Durhamwedding #FallsLakePark #Durhamweddingphotographer #ncweddingphotography #FallsLakewedding #ncweddingphotographers #winterwedding #parkweddingphotography #Durham #outdoorwedding #winterweddingportraits #weddingphotographync #lakewedding #silvercordeventphotography #outdoors #hiking #ncoutdoors #lakecrabtree #outsidewedding #outdoorweddingphotographer #ncengagementphotographer #engagementphotos
