Passing the wedding photography test

The wedding party and I were driving in separate vehicles and the bride called me and said that she saw this pond by the side of the road and asked if we could pull over and get some pictures there because she thought it was really pretty. As I pulled onto the gravel driveway which surrounded the pond, I scanned the scene before me and immediately honed in on the beautiful willow trees arching over the banks. The skies were cloudy so the light was nice and evenly lit, there wasn’t a breath of wind, the pond was as smooth as glass. Within seconds, now I had already taken the photo in my head so I knew what to do. I asked Karina and DJ to take a quiet stroll around the other side of the pond and told them just to relax, talk and snuggle with each other. Because I was a great distance away, I wouldn’t be able to give them much direction anyway which turned out to be a very good thing. This pic was the result of trusting my equipment and understanding the loving relationship that this couple shared without intruding into the moment with my own ideas of how they should behave when having their portraits taken. This was a test of my couple trusting me to “get the shots” on the fly without worrying that I’d waste a second of their allotted time. That I could deliver what they were dreaming of without a plan or second thought. . . . . . #raleighweddingphotographer #raleighweddingphotography #Ashevilleweddingphotography #realweddings #realemotion #documentarystyle #Ashevilleweddingphotographer #weddingphotographer #photography #instawed #fearlesslycolorful #ncweddingphotography #raleigh #silvercordeventphotography #weddingphotography #weddingphotos #ncweddingphotographer #nofilter #brides #bridesofinstagram #flashphotography #weddinginspiration #weddingpics #candidphotos #candidstylewedding #thenatureofweddingphotography
