Exploring Yates Mill Park with the 50 MP Canon 5DS

May 08, 2019  •  Leave a Comment

Last week, I added a new camera to my bag, the Canon 5DS. I took it out for a test drive at Yates Mill Park the very next day and am absolutely loving this camera! It is so sharp that it's honestly difficult to take a blurry photo with it, lol!  I can't wait to incorporate this amazing SLR into my workflow for my wedding clients and am so excited to see all the awesome photos that I'll be creating over the next couple of years using the 5DS.

This is a Pectoral Sandpiper. I spotted him looking for bugs at the top of the waterfall.

This is how far away from him I was when I took the photo at the top of this post.

This is the original shot of a Canada Goose on the nest.

This is the same photo of that goose on the nest. I have cropped it to show you the incredible details found in in this 50MP camera's images.

Here's another example of the incredible sharpness that this camera offers. There is an Indigo Bunting in this tree.

That is a crop of the previous photo showing just how far one can zoom into the photos to see the details of what is going on within the frames.

A female Baltimore Oriole sitting at the top of a Maple tree. I was about 100 feet away when I took this shot,

Here is what they look like if I cropped the original pic. This is a straight out of the camera shot, no sharpening or noise reduction has been applied to the image.

This is a juvenile Broadhead Skink.

A male Common Anole appeared nearby and started to head towards the Skink.

The Anole put on an aggressive display as soon as he spotted the Skink.

The Skink was unimpressed with the Anole and sauntered off without incident, lol!

I also spotted a Black Chinned Hummingbird sitting on a branch in this tree. Can you see him?

I cropped the original photo so you could get a better look at him. Crazy huh?!

Stay tuned for all of the wedding and engagement pic's which will be captured with the Canon 5DS that I'll be posting here this summer. Cheers to what's yet to come!
