What motivates you to travel far and wide to document a millisecond (or a thousand)?

Going through my work this evening deciding what makes the cut going into this summer season portfolio and couldn’t help but smile when I found this pic. This is a portrait of Andrew & Betsy during their engagement session at Westpoint on Eno Park in Durham. I remember the exact moment that I pushed the shutter on this photo, the way the light was reflecting off of the water, the warm breeze, sounds of bird song and these lovely colors sparkling in my viewfinder. I was so grateful to get to be in this exact spot, balancing on a steep muddy river bank, trying my best to capture a beautiful second in time that Andrew and Betsy would get to keep for the rest of their lives. The funny thing is, shots like this are going to stay with me too, a little bit of permanent sunshine that never fades. 🌿 So I’m wondering, what are the things that you take pictures of that end up leaving a permanent mark on your heart? The people we love, our clients, the animals we adore and the places that we just can’t shake off. Are you using your photographic voice to speak for those who cannot or documenting history as it is written? What motivates you to travel far and wide to document a millisecond (or a thousand)? . . . . #photographer #photography #weddingphotographer #engagementphotographer #raleigh #durham #raleighengagementphotographer #durhamengagementphotographer #westpointontheeno #ncparks #ncoutdoors #ncoutdoorweddingphotography #silvercordeventphotography #thenatureofweddingphotography #weddingphotography #engagementphotography #parkengagement #river #riverkiss #outdoors #outdoorlovers #raleighengagementphotography #durhamengagementphotography
