Downtown Raleigh engagement photo tips

Going through some images from over this past year and pulled out these beautiful portraits from a spring engagement session from downtown Raleigh. Although I’m best known for getting pictures in more natural settings, I absolutely adore taking photos in more urban environments too. I think it’s neat to use the city backdrop to match the style of my couples, particularly when it comes to what they choose to wear on shoot day. This reminded of a few more tips that I’d like to share on what to wear for your engagement session... 🍁 Wear comfortable clothes: If you’re not comfortable, it will be noticeable in the pictures. Also, wear comfy shoes if your location will include a lot of walking. You can even bring a second pair with us so that your feet don’t hurt. 🍁 Wear clothing that compliments your personality: Make sure your clothes look like “you” and fit your personality. There is no need to force yourself into something that doesn’t suit your personal taste. You do you. 🍁 Coordinate your clothing with each other: Wear clothes that are the same level of “dressyness,” and wear similar shades that compliment each other. Choose clothes that look best on the both of you. Consider the season in which your shoot will take place. For example, in the winter, the following colors look great together: navy, gray, maroon, cream/khaki. In the summer, the following colors look great together: white, cream/khaki, light blue. 🍁 Wear clothes to compliment your location: If you are taking pictures in a field or the mountains, consider clothes with more natural colors. And if you are taking pictures in a downtown area, you might consider more urban clothes with bolder colors as is reflected in the portraits shown here :) . . . . . #raleighengagementphotographer #raleighengagementphotography #raleighengaged #raleigh #silvercordeventphotography #weddingphotography #engagementphotos #ncweddingphotographer #canon #engagementphotography #outdoorweddingphotographer #ncengagementphotographer #engaged2019 #naturelovers #outdoorweddingphotog #canonusa #raleighengagementphotos #natureismyaesthetic #luvbirdslovebirds #downtownraleigh #raleighdowntown #raleighwedding #raleighnc
