Planning for the possibility of rain on your wedding day

Since I’m a photographer who specializes in capturing outdoor weddings, I thought maybe a few of you out there might appreciate a few ideas of what to have on hand in case the forecast calls for rain drops to fall on your big day. Towels: Having a stash of a few large beach towels really can help if your chairs or dance floor gets wet. Chances are these towels won’t even be noticed by your guests so just grab a few from your own linen closet to keep handy. Umbrellas: You don’t have to break the bank to offer umbrellas to your guests. The best thing you can do is buy a large stash and keep them at your ceremony & reception location. If the sun stays shinning, you’ll never have to bring them out and you might even be able to return them if they are unused. Hay: Yep, this dried grass can be a last minute savor for a wedding that has been hit with rain! Adding a layer of hay to an outdoor location can soak up the water and help to prevent mud from forming. Of course, you can’t exactly break out the hay if the rain comes unannounced but it is something you might want to think about in the days before you wedding, especially if your ceremony or reception takes place in an open field. Even one hay bale would suffice, particularly if spread out near entrance and exit areas! PS. Wedding day couples portraits in the rain are freak’n awesome!!!!! . . . #raleighweddingphotographer #durhamweddingphotography #winstonsalemweddingphotographer #caryncweddingphotographer #ncweddingphotography #hollyspringsweddingphotography #silvercordeventphotography #weddingphotography #weddingphotos #wilmingtonweddingphotographer #chapelhillweddingphotographer #ncweddings #northcarolinaweddingphotogapher #2020engaged #2020bride #ashevilleweddingphotographer #fuquayvarinaweddingphotographer #booneweddingphotographer #rockymountweddingphotographer #obxweddingphotographer #engaged💍 #engaged #engagementring #rainyweddings #weddinginspiration #outdoorwedding #outdoorweddingphotographer #weddingideas #weddingplanning #rainywedding
