Downtown Raleigh wedding photography at Fred Fletcher Park~

Every so often I am lucky enough to photograph small intimate weddings here in Raleigh. I say lucky because if I'm hired to cover about 3 hours of a wedding day and there are only 4 or 8 people to photograph in an entire wedding a small group allows me plenty of time to really capture some beautiful portraits with the happy couple. Small weddings are my favorite thing to cover sometimes because there is always an air of relaxation in the air due to the complete lack of stress that occasionally favors a giant event.

This wedding was officiated by the grooms brother, a USN Chaplin at downtown Raleigh's lovely little gem, Fred Fletcher Park. The only guests were the grooms flight crew and the occasional butterfly that would glide past us as the couple spoke their vows under a hot August sun.

Once it was official the flight crew departed and the happy couple and I spent a few hours capturing some fun portraits around the park. We also hit the road and found some picturesque spots around downtown to grab even more photos.

Raleigh is a great place to be a wedding photographer especially if your willing to get out there and explore the city streets to find those perfect real life backdrops to suit your clients taste. The summer months are especially awesome for all of the green plants and flowers that bloom all season long here in the city of Sir Walter.
