Sometimes the stars align and everything just falls into beautifully into place. My return to the beautiful Vizcaya Villa to photograph N. and S.'s wedding was an example of just this principal.
I arrived at the venue in the early afternoon to take pictures of S and her bridesmaids getting ready for the ceremony. After starting off with a heartfelt prayer, the women went to work primping and preening. There was plenty of laughter to go around while they arranged their hair and helped one another into their dresses.
This venue is awesome for "get ready wedding" photos. The preparation room is painted in a lovely light lavender color that really reflects the light for my flash quite well.
Actually, now that I think about it, the entire venue seems to be set up especially for wedding photographers. Most of the walls are painted in a neutral color that works well with any wedding day Decor. Did I mention that the light from my flash cast off these walls reflects well in my camera? OK, yes I already know I said that already, I just can't stress enough how much I appreciate this sort of thing, haha!
N. & S. exchanged their vows under the ivy-draped pergola on the shores of the pond next to the venue. Their ceremony was a sweet as could be and after the deal was sealed with a kiss they exited the ceremony spot to the applause and happy cheers of approval of their wedding guests.

Wedding photography captured on location by wedding photographer S. Siko of Silvercord Event Photography. Vizcaya Villa Fayetteville wedding photography The formal portraits were captured next to the ceremony spot by the pond. This is when things got a little weird. It was super hot that afternoon and I started to feel a little woozy. The next thing I know my vision starts to blur and I feel buzzing in my head starts to grow and intensity. I finally realized that the heat must be getting to me because I nearly passed out while taking the wedding parties portraits.

Luckily my clients were patient with me and allowed me to take a quick break to regain my composure. After a minute or two of sitting down and slamming three small Deer Park water bottles, we were able to continue the formal portrait session.
For the couples portrait's I photographed N. and S. on the bridge that spans the winding creek that spills into the pond. The semi-shaded filtered light was just perfect and I was super relieved to be feeling better so that I would have the opportunity to take the special pictures for my clients.

Once the formal portrait session was completed we headed back inside to enjoy the reception. Boy oh boy, this family knows how to throw a party! Between the lights, the food, the conversation and the dancing I was in wedding photographer heaven with boundless photo opportunities to be had everywhere I turned.

This might be why N. & S.'s final photo delivery ended up being over 1800 pics!
As a bonus, I was super happy that the bride suggested that we sneak out of the reception to go back outside to capture some photos of the couple dancing at night on their ceremony spot. With nothing but the light of the chandelier hanging in the Pergola, we managed to capture some really beautiful quiet moments between the couple. On our way back to re-join the wedding reception we stopped to take a couple shots on the rooftop patio, always a good idea!

I absolutely love it when my clients suggest photo opportunities like this because while it's technically challenging to pull off night shots the photo reward potential is off the charts awesome!
N. and S. ended their evening by exiting the venue through a tunnel of sparklers and then we're whisked away in a 1964 Cadillac Coupe Deville. Sweet!

I would like to take the time to thank N. & S. for their kindness, encouragement, and patience.
From the time we took the engagement photos leading up to the wedding day, these two wonderful people have pushed me to be the best photographer that I can possibly be.
With their thoughtful ideas and creative photo requests this experience has truly made me into a better artist and I don't have any words to thoroughly express how grateful I am to have had the opportunity to work with them.
Thank you!
-Sally

PPS. I almost forgot to mention how nice and professional the couple's videographer company was! The company is owened by Craig Stak and is called Stak Films. A husband and wife team, these two talented people are truly passionate about creating gorgeous wedding day imagery. After working alongside them for many hours it was plain to see that they truly love what they do.
Here is a sneak peek preview reel of the wedding at Vizcaya Villa from the Stak Film's point of view...
You may notice that their video footage looks similar in tone to my photos. This is because Stak Films and I both use Canon cameras to capture images. I kind of like the idea of a videographer and photographer simultaneously providing imagery to wedding clients that's produced in a similar tone and style. Not sure I can fully explain why but I feel this way, but I think that it adds to the measure of sophistication found in the Bride and Groom's total overall image delivery.
