By the time the ceremony concluded, the rain had stopped so we all headed outside to the rear patio to get the group formals done. Just after Karina & DJ’s family portraits were finished, the skies opened up again and it started pouring! This is how it goes here in NC in the summer though. Pop up storms that last as little as a few minutes to ones that park themselves right overhead and seem to last for an hour. Luckily, there is a cool stone porch at the Laurel Room at High Vista Golf Club that provides shelter from the sun as well as the rain. So, the humidity in the air kept fogging up my lenses, lol! This is a fairly common issue working outdoors in the summer. It happens when I transition from working inside an area that is air conditioned to outside, especially when it’s raining. Usually I’ll try and acclimate my cameras to the temperatures by heading outside about 5 mins before my couples do to give my Canons a chance to warm up.
