Hi everyone!
It's day 25 and I am pleased to announce that my newest website has climbed out of the purgatory of the Google sandbox (on page 31) and onto page 6 position #6 in search results. if your'e unfamilier with the term Google "sandbox" check out this link.

Lol, oh my goodness! I honestly was starting to get nervous last week when my rankings stayed stagnant in no mans land. I guess it just took a bit longer than usual for the search engine to properly index the new pages. It was nerve wracking to be sure!
A few of the things that I have worked on this past two weeks are...
* Wrote original copy for my About Page - Ok, yes I know that I screwed that up at first because everyone knows that Google HATES duplicated content. I was lazy at first and thought that I could get away with copying the text from my main website into the new pages but, nope. That was a bad idea so I deleted my initial descriptions and re wrote everything from scratch.
* Manually fetching and indexing new content as it was published to the site every day.
* Submitted an additional sitemap for the http version of the new website in addition to the working https version.
Now, the real work begins. A 25 page climb in rankings in less than a month is impressive (yay Zenfolio!) but lets face it, a page six listing might as well be invisible to potential couples searching for a wedding photographer like me, so going forward, I will be doubling my blogging efforts and publishing fresh posts daily on the new site until I'm consistently ranking on page 2 or higher. These blog articles will be a mix of long-form and photographic content created in an experiment to see what difference is found between linking social media posts and simple photographs hosted on my site with a short caption.
Here is a short clip of my day-25 ranking result...
Check back here on this blog for periodic updates as I will post any developments here as soon as I can.
Thanks and have a great week!
Sally
