Chapel Hill Outdoor Wedding photography

One of my favorite kinds of weddings to photograph are ones which take place in a location that is close to my couples hearts. The most special of of these is often held at their own homes. Morgan and Dana are outdoor lovers with a thirst for traveling, yet their chosen ceremony spot was in their backyard right here in Chapel Hill North Carolina.

This intimate outdoor wedding was attended by only the couple's family's (and their dogs!) on a warm spring afternoon in late March. I arrived early to capture the bride's prep time and to photograph the lovely flowers that the couple had decorated throughout their home. Happily, I also managed to capture quite a few fun dog moments as one of their furry "kids" picked up a log in his mouth and proceeded to run around with it in the backyard.

The ceremony was short and sweet with heartfelt readings and plenty of hugs delivered by family members. Once the wedding was over, we gathered the entire group together and took some formal shots before heading off to explore Morgan and Dana's property in search of cool spots to capture their newlywed portraits.

Wrapping up the evening, I rejoined the couple and their family at the Oak Leaf Restaurant in downtown Carrborro to photograph a few minutes of their reception. It was just lovely to have the opportunity to grab some sweet candid shots of everyone enjoying each other's company before dinner was served.

I managed to deliver Dana and Morgan their photographs about two weeks after the wedding and have just received the nicest review on Google from the couple..

There aren't enough words for me to express how much I love serving couples like Morgan and Dana. Their kind words mean everything to me, this is why I work so hard everyday at what I do.
