Lately I have been channeling my inner #birdnerd and wanted to share a couple of my latest wildlife photos from the past couple of weeks. These were all captured with the 50 MP Canon EOS5DS paired with a 70-200 zoom lens. I have to say, there is a ton of noise out there on the internet regarding the "proper" use of this camera, mainly that it is a niche body with intended use in a studio environment only. The high megapixel count does make image capture more challenging (super high resolution capture can potentially bring out flaws in an image due to handheld camera shake) but honestly, it is actually pretty hard to take a bad photo with this camera as long as you've got a steady hand or a tripod handy. Being comfortable shooting at high shutter speeds while maintaining proper exposures is helpful too. All I can say is that if I am able to photograph the moment when a great Blue Heron strikes at a fish, or capture the instant a Victoria Crowned Pigeon looks my way before bobbing his head then documenting a first kiss during a wedding ceremony becomes a breeze.
Don't listen to the naysayers! 10/10 highly recommend the Canon 5DS for weddings, portraits, architecture or wildlife applications.

PS. The somewhat limiting ISO range (as compared to the Canon 5D MKIV) isn't a factor at all, especially when using a flash. The noise created at the higher end of the spectrum is very fine grain and easily cleaned up in Lightroom. Not a factor at all for the kind of work that I do :)
