One of the prettiest places to go and capture gorgeous photos is at the J.C. Raulston Arboretum in Raleigh North Carolina. This venue is home to thousands of species of plants from all over the world which provide a varied and colorful natural backdrop that looks great for any kind of photo shoot. I have been bringing couples here for years for engagement sessions and was so happy when my clients R & C told me a few months ago that they wanted to go to the garden after their ceremony to take their couples wedding day portraits.
R & C were all smiles and super excited when we greeted each other at the visitors center to get started! We made our way around the Arboretum, through the woods in search of the best light and splash of color to best complement the couple. Since it is still early spring, it was a tiny bit of a challenge to find locations that were not in direct sunlight (which is no Bueno for portrait photography) nevertheless, I know this place like the back of my hand and was able to find the perfect spots in the garden that would serve as a lovely backdrop for their photos.
