Wedding ceremony and reception location;
At a private club somewhere in the Raleigh NC area
Rain, rain come my way, dark clouds can't ruin this wedding day!
Sometimes seemingly bad things can turn out to be the best part of your wedding day. An unexpected event that disrupts your best laid plans can flip your expectations for the better. In this case my clients W & E had planned to wed on the shores of a pretty lake under a October sun. Nature had other plans when a HUGE cold front decided to push its way across NC on their big day.....
Yes, the inside of this clubhouse wasn't the first choice for the couple and the backlighting and bogus fluorescent lighting was a bit sketchy however there wasn't an unhappy moment as they stated their vows.
After the ceremony and the formal family and wedding party photos the couple and I headed outside to see if we could nail a few pics before the storm hit.
A few drops hit our faces as we walked down the dock on the lake. With one eye on the sky (looking for lightning) and the other in the viewfinder of my Canon we quickly realized how freak awesome dark storm clouds look as a backdrop.
Though our portrait session took at most 7- 10 mins my clients received some of my favorite photos that I've taken all year!
When the rain finally arrived the bride and groom were safely inside the clubhouse and ready to rock their reception!
Photobombed by the little brother,lol!
What an awesome day spent with W & E, congrats you two!
