When it comes to getting married here in NC, its hard to resist the shores of our lovely beaches. The long pier at the Doubletree Hotel by Hilton & Ft. Macon State Park in Atlantic Beach are no exception and were chosen by my client to create classically beautiful east coast portraits for her wedding album.

I spent the morning at the Hilton grabbing a few shots of the bride getting ready as well as capturing some photos of the jewelry and shoes. The morning light coming through the east curtains was just the perfect thing to illuminate the brides dress as sun made its march over the ocean.

Once the wedding dress was on it was off to Ft.Macon State Park, just a quick 7 min drive north from the hotel to take some bridal party photos.

After the ladies portraits were taken they headed back to the hotel and I waited for a few mins to meet up with the guys. I had never met B. ( the groom ) face to face but he was easy to spot in the large group of handsome gentleman that showed up at Ft.Macon since he was the one with the brightest smile.

Every once in a while I get to work with folks who really want to have some fun with their wedding day photos and today was no exception,lol! I can't tell you how awesome it is to work with people like this.....

After shooting the groomsmen photos we all returned to the Hilton for the ceremony which took place on the pier on the beach behind the hotel.

Once the ceremony ended, the sun was quickly setting while painting the skies in every hue imaginable so we hustled throughout the family portraits and wedding party photos were still able to get some colorful couples portraits just in time before the sun dropped below the horizon..

Now it was time for the party! The reception was held at the Hilton in one of its spacious event halls. I loved how even the carpet accentuated the weddings color scheme of bright blues and red. Just a blast to photograph people having fun in a pretty setting!
