Taking a short hike and taking a couple of 3D photos along the way

It is finally Autumn here in central North Carolina! Time for cooler temperatures, apple cider, Canadian geese flying in V's and pumpkin spice everything!

I've been waiting for this season all year long and am sooooo glad that fall has arrived. It's really tough to stay tethered to my computer all day editing once Fall arrives and so I decided to go take a quick hike at nearby Harris Lake Park in New Hill NC before settling in at my desk for the day. Like most of you, I enjoy taking photos when I am out on the trail. Sometimes I bring my Canon's with me when I'm hiking, but every once in a while I kinda like just having to carry my iPhone, especially when I just want to live in the moment and not have to get all 'extra with the camera settings of my DSLR.

Check out these pics that I took this morning. They are posted to my Facebook page and viewable in 3D which you're welcome to go take a 'scroll through if you're so inclined.

Snail Uber, lol!!!

I don't know why I enjoy photographing fungi and mushrooms so much but for whatever reason, I always seem to come home with a couple of pic's like these when I return home. They just look so cool.

It's true. I've got a dream of photographing a wedding under a moss-covered giant Live Oak tree, just like the ones seen in the movie Forrest Gump. I think it would look amazing, especially for a late afternoon or sunset ceremony.

It's been fun experimenting with this 3D file format on Facebook. I like the way that the photos look like little windows peering into another world, especially when view the pic's on a phone or tablet.
As cool as they appear to be here, I really want to capture photo's like these using my Canon's instead of my iPhone! As of right now, I don't have a way to deliver 3D files (that don't require a VR headset) to my clients as a professional service, but boy-oh-boy, I'd love to be able to capture more elements of a wedding day in 3D! That being said, I will definitely try and get some more at the next few weddings that I've got coming up, just for fun!

Ok, I've got some work to do so check back here tomorrow for my next post coming out tomorrow morning featuring a behind the scenes and sneak peek of my Asheville mountain wedding adventure from last weekend.
