Behind the scenes short post from last weekend's mountain wedding in Asheville N.C.

Last weekend was just awesome!

Gregg and I drove into Asheville on a foggy and rainy Friday night, excited and just thrilled to be here because we had a mountain wedding to photograph the next day. Our drive was uneventful other than the fact that it was pouring rain and visibility on the roads were sketchy at times, lol! I made a quick timelapse coming down one of the mountains shown below.

After setting up for the evening, we headed downtown to do a little exploring before heading off to dinner. Asheville is a cool little town. There are tons of galleries and boutiques reflecting a style and eclectic taste that is positively humming with good vibes around every corner.

We dined at Takosushi in downtown Asheville on Friday night and OMG, that place is absolutely a must-do if you're into the happy marriage of 'east meets west cuisine. The sushi was delicious and the service was stellar.

The next morning, Gregg and I arrived at the client's home to get started taking pictures of the wedding day prep. Once that was completed we drove up to the Blue Ridge Parkway with the couple and their wedding party with the intent of taking some epic mountain portraits. It was about 42 degrees outside, raining with fog so thick that at times, we could barely see more than 5 feet in front of us.

I thought you might like to see what it was like, as I hiked up a mountain during a Nor 'Easter in Asheville with an entire wedding party so here are a few behind the scenes pic's that I took while on the trail.

This is a quick clip of my point of view heading up the hill with the couple and their wedding party. Yah, it was kinda chilly and wet but I had a blast talking and laughing with my clients and their friends. Crazy as it may sound, this is exactly the kind of thing I LOVE about my job!

Luckily, the long walk up that mountain paid off with some gorgeous photos for the bride and groom, in the end, proving that this hike was definitely worth the climb! We spent about 2 hours in the peaks and drove to 3 different shooting locations along the Blue Ridge Parkway. I have so much respect for awesome couples like A & K. They really toughed it out braving the elements to get their photos. It was funny because usually, I am the one asking my clients for "just one more pic?" but in this case, A & K were the ones requesting more photos, despite the weather conditions. I LOVE working with people like this so much! The fog was dreamy and that light just glowed! Seriously, I  couldn't dream up a better way to spend this day on the misty mountaintop.

That's all the sneak peek you're going to get for now, lol! I've got over a thousand more beautiful photograph's from this wedding day to work on this week to get this wedding done and delivered, so it's time for me to get back to work!

Be on the lookout for my next post on Wednesday morning featuring (hopefully, lol) all of the incredible photos from this wedding day.
