Love a mountain wedding

So loving these emerald tones and those lights strung from the hemlock tree featured in Aaron & Kassi’s portraits at the Leatherwood Mountains Resort. So awesome to get out to the western part of NC to photograph their mountain wedding! 🌿 It’s been a crazy awesome week around here with editing and shooting, plus launching my 3rd website. Haha, while channeling my inner #birdnerd , I finally bit the bullet and am moving forward with starting up my NC birding tours & news business. I’ve always wanted to have a paid excuse to go hiking and birdwatching so this feels like the perfect fit. 🌿 On a personal note, I’m still disappointed that I didn’t end up going to Virginia last Wednesday. Would have loved the opportunity to take some interesting pictures and reconnect with an old friend. I’ve got so many questions to ask and 15 years of backstory to catch up on. I’m not going to name publicly, but omfg this person is a legit world renowned National Geographic photographer, and ARMY vet and a very successful creative entrepreneur. It’s weird to say, but this person is the closest thing I could point to as serving as a role model for my professional life and probably doesn’t know it. Even though we were close friends back in the day, it would feel awkward as hell to actually tell them that in person since we’ve grown apart. Hmmm, ok so this post took a weird vulnerable turn soooo yeah, I’m just gonna drop it here and run haha! 🌿 Do you have anyone in your life that you look up to but they don’t know it?
